Goolsby SchoolAfter-School Program

An after-school program designed exclusively for Elementary School students. Our program introduces core craft skills and builds upon them throughout the school year. Children develop skills through guided projects that encourage creativity, confidence, and problem-solving. Each session builds on what they have already learned, helping skills grow naturally over time.

A Peek Inside Our Elementary School Program

At The Explorers Club, our elementary school program is built around monthly creative themes that guide children through a series of weekly, hands-on craft projects.

Each four-lesson session introduces a new theme, with every lesson offering a take-home craft that builds on skills learned in previous weeks. Children begin by learning foundational craft skills such as measuring, cutting, painting, shaping, and simple construction. As the program progresses, these skills are developed further through more detailed projects, encouraging confidence, independence, and creative problem-solving.

Themes change throughout the school year and may include seasonal crafts, practical life skills, mixed media projects, and creative design challenges. Each week, children proudly take home a finished piece they have made themselves, reinforcing both skill development and a strong sense of accomplishment.

By revisiting and building upon techniques across the year, children gain real, practical experience in crafting while developing patience, focus, and creativity in a fun and supportive environment.

Take a Peek at our Example Monthly Theme: Autumn Crafts

Week 1 – Pom-Pom & Texture Crafts

Children create a fall-themed pom-pom craft, such as pumpkin pencil toppers or small pom-pom decorations. The focus is on hands-on fun, exploring textures, and finishing a colourful project to take home.

Week 2 – Bean Mosaics & Painted Elements

This week features a fall bean mosaic on card, along with painted beans used as decorative accents. Children design their own patterns and take home a bold, autumn-inspired piece.

Week 3 – Painted Wood Projects

Children paint and decorate wooden slices or shapes with autumn designs, creating a rustic seasonal decoration. Each piece is finished and sealed to take home.

Week 4 – Wreaths & Dough Play

Final week includes making autumn or gnome-style wreaths, paired with fall-scented dough for creative play. Children leave with a completed wreath and a memorable end-of-month project.
